Genny and Andrew: Hot Springs Wedding Getaway

Weddings can be stressful, there's no getting around it. However, do you know what the secret is to having a stress free wedding day? A hot springs getaway in the mountains of beautiful Idaho! Genny and Andrew's wedding felt like an intimate wedding, with a dash of elopement, and a huge serving of party with friends and family. Burgdorf Hot Springs is nestled up in the mountains, a short drive from McCall Idaho. The rustic cabins and open fields are perfect for guests looking to escape the city for the weekend while participating in the wedding festivities. Genny and Andrew had a beautiful, small ceremony on top of a mountain, inviting only immediate family and close friends. Then, with the ceremony completed, they hiked back down to the hot springs where they were greeted by a huge number of friends ready to celebrate. It was an amazing experience, and I really can't complain about getting to soak in a hot springs after a day of taking wedding photos!

Rustic cabins dot the hillside, and all paths lead to the hot springs!

Both Genny and Andrew made use of the cabins to get ready. With a bouquet of wildflowers and a flowered dress, Genny looked at home in the quaint living room of her A-Frame cabin. Andrew and his groomsmen drank whiskey and got dressed in their own cabin tucked away in the trees.

The ceremony itself took place up on the top of a nearby mountain. With only close friends and family in attendance, it was an intimate ceremony, and it was touching to see how much love everyone had for one another. It was a short ceremony, followed by champagne and hugs, and a hike down the hill to greet the waiting guests.

After our hike back to the hot springs, we were greeted by everyone who was waiting for the newlyweds to join the party! It was similar to a weekend camping trip, with some people enjoying the hot springs, others playing games, and the rest enjoying the food and drinks provided. I was able to sneak Genny and Andrew away for a few quick minutes to take some sunset pictures, and after that it was dancing and partying for the rest of the night!
